This page explains how to request deletion of your WellOps account and associated data. It applies to the WellOps mobile application (net.wellware.wellops) on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and to the WellOps web application.

Last updated: 18 August 2026

1. Before you start: who controls your data

WellOps is business software used by employers. Your account is created and administered by your organisation, not by Wellware. Your organisation is the data controller for your employment records; Wellware is the data processor acting on its instructions.

This matters for deletion: an employee cannot unilaterally erase attendance, payroll, or task records, because those records belong to the employer and are required by Lao labour, accounting, and tax law. The routes below reflect that.

2. Employees — request account deletion

In the app

  1. Open WellOps and sign in
  2. Go to More → About
  3. Tap Delete account
  4. Confirm your identity when prompted (biometric or device passcode)
  5. Read the confirmation notice and tap Submit request

Your request is sent to your organisation’s WellOps administrator, who reviews and actions it. You will be notified of the outcome.

By email

If you cannot access the app, email director@wellware.net from your registered address with the subject “WellOps account deletion request”. Include your full name and the name of your organisation. We will forward the request to your organisation’s administrator and confirm receipt within 5 working days.

3. Organisation owners — delete an entire organisation

An organisation owner may delete the whole WellOps tenant, including all user accounts and operational data.

  1. Sign in to WellOps on the web as an owner
  2. Go to Settings → Account & Data
  3. Select Delete organisation and confirm

Deletion begins with a 30-day grace period. During this window the organisation is deactivated but recoverable — contact director@wellware.net to cancel. After 30 days an automated purge runs and the deletion becomes permanent.

4. What is deleted

  • Your user account, profile, and login credentials
  • Active sessions and authentication tokens
  • Registered mobile devices
  • Uploaded photographs, including attendance verification photos
  • Documents you uploaded, where not required as a statutory record
  • Chat and assistant conversation history
  • Messaging platform links, such as a linked Telegram account
  • Notification history
  • Personal identifiers in operational records, which are redacted

5. What is retained, and why

Certain records cannot be deleted on request because Lao law requires that they be kept. These are retained for the periods below and are not used for any purpose other than legal compliance.

Record Retention Reason
Payroll records and payslips 10 years Lao labour and tax law
Tax filings and supporting records 10 years Lao tax law
Invoices and accounting entries 10 years Lao accounting law
Attendance records Per employer policy, minimum 1 year Lao labour law
Audit log of the deletion itself 7 years Demonstrating lawful processing

Where a statutory record must be kept, we redact rather than delete: direct identifiers such as contact details, date of birth, photographs, and device identifiers are removed. Your name is retained on payroll and tax records only, because those documents are not legally valid without it.

Work products such as completed tasks, approvals you granted, and tickets you handled remain in your organisation’s records as business documents, reattributed to a redacted user. This preserves the integrity of your employer’s operational history.

6. How long deletion takes

  • Employee request: reviewed and actioned by your organisation’s administrator. Wellware acknowledges emailed requests within 5 working days and forwards them promptly; the timing of the administrator’s decision rests with your organisation.
  • Organisation deletion: 30-day grace period, then automated purge
  • Backups: deleted data persists in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before rotating out

7. Self-hosted installations

If your employer runs WellOps on their own infrastructure, Wellware holds none of your data and cannot action a deletion request. Contact your organisation’s IT administrator directly.
